Oxford City travel to North Leigh's ground tonight (20/03) to take on Thame United in the semi-final of the Senior Cup (k.o. 19.45).
The two clubs have met on 20 occasions in the competition before (City winning 11 of those meetings) including, of course, in the Final last season when Thame ran out 4-1 winners.
Meanwhile, Banbury United play Kidlington in the other semi-final tonight (20/03) at Thame United's ground (k.o. 19.45)

After a goalless first-half City took the lead, but Thame scored twice late on to reach the Final for the second successive year where they will meet Kidlington who beat Banbury United on penalties when the match ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.

I think it's only the second time this century that neither side in the final was one of those exempt until the QF stage: so well done to Thame & Kidlington!

A bit worrying that 10 of City's starting line-up had played in the Conference this season, and the acclaimed man of the match on Twitter was the one that hadn't, Kian Duggan.
Quite frankly, although it was only the Senior Cup, a line-up featuring Brzozowski, Birtwistle, Kabongolo, Roberts, Roddy, Williams-Bushell, Smith, Lumeka and Krasniqi should have been more than capable of beating the side bottom of a league three tiers lower.......

One of Thame's goals was scored by Jaydon Carbon, who I understand is on a season's loan from City, so might have been a better option than some of the journeymen City have signed this season ?

We said the same last night funnily enough. Not putting the blame solely on it, as we were pretty poor but an absolute farce from the OFA to have a cup semi final on a pitch like that, Cutteslowe park is a better surface.

Certainly disappointed with this loss. I'd hoped, with the way league results are going, that the Senior Cup might be looked at as a way to give something positive to this part of the season.
