Well, that was more like it ! A fully deserved three points to move off the bottom of the table and to alleviate the pressure on Sam Cox a little bit. I still think he needs a good performance at Leamington, if not the result, but elimination in the FA Cup by Gosport could prove fatal. Frankly, Needham Market were ideal opponents for a moral boosting victory though. They played a lot of pleasing on the eye passing football, but were powder-puff upfront so were unable to exposure any of City's defensive weaknesses, and their lack of height throughout the team made them vulnerable in the air defending set-pieces. That said, you can only beat what is in front of you. I thought Andre Burley had a tremendous game on his return to the side, as did Cole Kpekawa. Josh Parker seemed to have re-found some spark and had an excellent game, and I expect everyone will be talking about Zac's goal ! Here is the detailed report for anyone interested fatbearssportingdiaries.blogspot.com/2024/09/oxford-city-3-0-needham-market-att-275.html

Many thanks, Clive. Our posts crossed again, but I was hoping you would produce a report in your usual detail!
