Gosh, what terrible goals to concede, especially the own goal from Jalen......

Kings Lynn are too good a side to gift a two-goal lead to and expect to get anything out of the game. There were some positive signs at the start. KML was not attempting any tippy tappy stuff at the back, and while his kicking isn't great, at least he was getting the ball upfield. But any confidence he may have been regaining was immediately undone by Jones' brain fart of an own goal. Then, for the second goal, Chi stopping, assuming the through ball was running out, and KML being slow to react to the onrushing forward pretty much summed up the season so far: a small step forward, and two giant leaps back. After that, City had much of the possession and could have scored more than the one Andrews goal. But they didn't. And poor defending on a free kick cost City a third. City haven't scored enough goals since Sanderson departed, but if stabilising the slide down the leagues is the biggest issue, then Merritt, Jenkins and co have to address the much more significant issue at the back. The Cox signings simply aren't good enough. Would simon Eastwood, not in the OUFC league squad, relish game time at court Place Farm? Are there one or two young centre halves at League 2 or national League not getting game time at the moment who could help stem the flow of goals? perhaps it's time for Jenkins to show how well-networked he is at this level.
