On a grey and drizzly afternoon I was looking back at a disorganised pile of records and came across my Oxford City Nomads (remember them?) lists and thought some of the names might nudge a few memories.......
By a long way it was Ben Moses who appeared most often for the team, with 213 matches (out of 606) and 101 goals.
Then Joel Meade with 174 appearances (and 5 goals); John Rixon - 160 appearances (44 goals); Jemaine Ferreira - 127 appearances (44 goals); and goalkeeper Milan Barisic with 111 appearances.
Second highest scorer was Conor McDonagh with 45 goals in just 45 appearances.

I watched about half a dozen games when they won the Hellenic League in 2011/12. With Conor McDonagh and Pablo Haynsham upfront, Adam Morris controlling the midfield and Kynan Isaac maurading down the left wing they were great to watch. Alan Foster was the goalkeeper in the games I saw even though he was over 40 at the time.
I'd have to dig out the programmes to remember who else was in the team that year.

They were a particularly good team to watch during that season. Ardley were also pushing for top spot in March until Nomads ran out 7-1 winners against them at CPF in a game expected to be a close-run thing!
(The team that day was Foster, Carbon, Dobson, Meade, Abbasi, Skendi, Ferreira, Morris, McDonagh, Haysham...and Zac McEachran.)
Pablo Haysham and Conor McDonagh scored 64 goals between them that season. I think Pablo then moved on to Hereford.

I remember getting absolutely spanked by Nomads when at Chalgrove, I think it was something like 15-1 and we barely touched the ball. I'm trying to find out who might have played for Nomads that day but (fortunately) it doesn't appear to exist on Google!

Think that might have been by Quarry Nomads before they linked up with City in 2005 as I've no record of City Nomads playing against Chalgrove.

James Dobson was a class player and went on to have a decent career, including playing for Slough in NLS. Pablo went to Didcot before joining Hereford when they had to reform, and played in the FA Vase final in 2016. Linked-In shows him as being an Under 18 coach at Oxford United. Whatever happened to that McEachran chap ?

Whatever happened to that McEachran chap ? Yes, there were certainly some very good players in that team. All made 1st XI appearances, though some, I thought at the time, deserved more: James Dobson and Pablo Haysham only managed 6 each. ('That McEachran chap' is, I understand, quite a player at Step 2 now )

I'm afraid I've no details of Nomads' pre-season friendlies...they often seemed to get arranged without the details making it to City's website.

August 15th 2015 apparently, Ox City Nomads 15-0 Chalgrove! Shame there's no recollection I'd love to know who was in that Nomads side that day.

Either side of that day Nomads played two Hellenic Premier fixtures, so I suspect some/most of these were in the team on the 15th........ 12/08/2015 v Royal Wootton Bassett Town: Lawrence, Palfreeman, Barney, Talboys, Leggett, Egden, Mundy, Rixon, Lovegrove, Awadh, Harris C. 18/08/2015 v Wokingham & Emmbrook: Lawrence, Palfreeman, Barney, Talboys, Leggett, West, Murphy, Rixon, Patterson, Awadh, Harris C.
