Oxford City Futsal had their pre season futsal meeting yesterday which consisted of the team playing two games in front of BBC Oxford cameras. The first game saw a very healthy, bronzed, muscular team ablazed with natural skill - but that is enough about the opposing Brazilian team - let's talk about our boys ;D They held their heads up high coming in at half time 0-0 but unfortunatley in the second half they gave away a two late goals sounds familiar... Their second game saw them grab their first win, unbelievable I know and if I told you that Andy Cox played and they still won well now you can imagine the faces of disbelief on every single Brazilian, Spanish and Libyan player there Oxford City Futsal is built around Oxford City FC with a splattering of coaches, supporters and fathers of City Colts players. BBC Oxford are planning on airing the footage this Friday at 6.30pm. Cheers Chris

Chris,
I thought it went very well (The launch itself) and the way we played considering we'd only officially met each other beforehand was excellent.
Bring on next Sunday!
P.S. I spoke to the league sponsors about Futsal goalkeeper gloves afterwards... I hope I didn't offend as I walked away shaking my head and giggling when they said they were fingerless. NO CHANCE SON, I need my fingers!

Hi Ash, fingerless gloves indeed... I was also told that the majority of top futsal goalkeepers don't wear gloves at all! I have put the league photo up in the Oxford City Futsal pages on this OCFC website. I think you have a really strong base for a good futsal team, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the team played together especially as you were playing against established futsal teams. Here's to a cracking Sunday evening!
