You probably see the heading London Marathon, and thought to yourself "Surely Holdy isn't running the London Marathon"? Don't worry. I can assure you that I am not going to attempt to run the marathon. 2.6 miles would be enough for me. I am posting this on the messageboard on behalf one of the parents (and my linesman) for our Under 12's girls team. I would really appreciate you all backing Ian in his quest, and any donation from you or any of your friends or family would be very much appreciated. As Ian has stated below, it is for a very worthwhile cause.
Dear All,
On Saturday mornings I am often found running the line for the Oxford City Girls U12’s trying to be a reasonable and fair linesmen whilst also trying to see how my daughter Lucy is playing.
As many of the coaches and parents know, I then take to running on Saturday afternoons in preparation for Sunday 17th April when I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Help For Heroes.
I am running around 50 miles a week but it’s made worthwhile by the thought that I am raising money for a great cause. Help for Heroes was set up in 2007 to do something practical to help the men and women of our Armed Forces who are injured while serving our country. They are providing invaluable support that makes a real difference to the lives of those injured.
I have my own place in the Marathon so every pound donated goes directly to Help for Heroes to support those injured. I would be grateful if you would consider helping me to help them.
Donating is simple and completely commission free via the link below:
