Good Result today, As Exile said in the Live thread probably as good as we could have gone into the match expecting, but afterwards I think we should have come away with 3 points.
Felt we put in a great team performance, exceptional 1st half, didn't let salisbury into the game, chased and closed everything Blossom in particular played a Blinder and got us our first goal with a lovely looping backwards header from a corner.
Second half started the way some expected the game to go with Salisbury, having shifted up a couple of gears, dominating and City needing to park the bus, which we did quite well. Until about 15 minutes in when the pendulum swung into Oxford's favor and we had 15mins of almost total dominance.
Felipe is edging ever closer and hit the post twice, flush, one which though the angle was tight he should have buried into the open net after rounding the keeper...the other was just a piece of all round skill. These happily were not the only chances we created and Jerome Anderson also missed an open goal from 5 yards out after Felipe put him in.
The last 10mins, thanks to the referee (maybe?!!??) was the best ive had this season in terms of excitment....Salisbury score from a corner for there 2nd....then Malone protesting, gets sent off (stright red), for dissent and calling the ref something, presumably....
Then a penalty decision goes our way which Sav, as always dispatches to level teh tie with the last kick of the game....cue amazing, rapturous celebration from the City faithful, many of whom had stopped in there tracks on there way out of the ground....and not so happy Salisbury fans, or at least from what I could see from it.
But when the dust has settled Salisbury will have to see this as 2 dropped points for them, for us its a fantastic result and was a goal posts width from being more.
