The Vets are in the County Cup Final this Wednesday against their old friends and rivals Kidlington at Carterton FC, kick-off 7.30PM. They have been dealt a triple blow, as 3 players are ruled out after picking up knocks in the last couple of weeks. Captain Julian Dark picked up a hamstring injury a fortnight ago, and has not recovered in time. Player Manager Wayne Holden also picked up a hamstring injury last Week at Ducklington, whilst Gary Murphy has a hernia injury, and is likely not play again this season. On the plus side, Mike Ford & Mark Orlando return from injury.
Squad: Carl Fisher, Anthony Hill, Robert Tutton, Justin Lee, Steve Foote, Simon Pagano, Paul Creed, Darrell Cribben, Barry Primmer, Paul Kimber, Paul Spittle, Mark Orlando, Ronnie Williams, Mike Ford, Shaun Pearce, Dave Southam.

I ventured out to watch the vets last night who picked up their first piece of silverware of the season!!
Had the most bizzare experience on the way home and wondered if anybody could confirm that I'm not losing the plot... I swear I saw Russ Abbott throwing up on the A40 with some old bloke rubbing his back...
Either way it was more entertaining than than the game but a great win all the same!!
Come on the Vets.

I've just noticed on the message board that a couple of the city fans were ill last night. I'm a keen follower of local football and attended the final last night. I was really ill myself and wondered whether or not it was the chicken nuggets that they served up after the game.. If anybody else was ill I think we should take the matter up with Carterton FC. I also over heard the City players saying that they thought it was an own goal but I can confirm it was the nippy No. 10 that got the final touch.

As much as I enjoyed the match last night I was surprised to see that at the end of 80 minutes Sky Sports confirmed that there were in fact 0 shots on goal.
City vets are still on course to become The Invincibles this season, much better than Arsenal's achievement of 2003/04 I am sure you will agree.

whats going on at city vets this year? after the chipping norton fiasco things calmed down a bit, but last week creedy brought brize norton to a stand-still with an attempt on goal straight into the flight path of a DC-10, and then wednesday you manage to pepper the A40 with sick! having watched the final I can only imagine that you were drinking to forget rather than celebrating
