Referee = Shocking for both sides Malone , Never a red card. We score 2 clealy offside, they get the 4th from a freekick that should never have been Glad fordy decided against signing Bartley on his showing
Bloody entertaining to watch though!
Would like to see Perps back in at left back please

Exciting game, a draw was a fair result in the end but the referee's performance was absolutely shocking.
3 of City's goals were down to extremely dubious refereeing decisions, in particular the 4th where Lee Steele was a minimum 5 yards offside.
Having said that I thought that Liam Malone was unlucky to be sent off, his 2nd yellow was merited but the first was very dodgy.
Good luck for the rest of the season, looking forward to the next encounter.

Yes, Brilliant game, highly entertaining, I enjoyed it.
Referee was shocking agreed, he seemed to forget that football is actually a contact sport.
Malones first yellow was a joke, they were shoulder to shoulder but no contact was actually made (i.e daylight between the 2 players) and the diddy player lost his footing. Second one I didn't see so clearly from the far end but it looked like Malone won the ball and any contact was minimal...both players got up and looked to get on with the game as if it was a fair challenge but the ref saw different.
I have a hunch that sadly for Malone his reputation maybe getting the better of him, thats his 4-5 red this season, many players wouldn't even get that many yellows all season. Deserved or not (and I think not ) hes on the refs notebook as 'one to watch'.
Couldn't see if the goals where offside but both, especially Steele's was very well taken and he still had a lot to do to get it into the net , inspiration to the youngsters out there about how it should be done, trick the keeper into going to ground and cooly take it round him, many others would have panicked, lashed at it and probably missed.
I think a draw is fair, both teams defending was shambolic, the 1st and 2nd diddy goals got far to far across the goal, we should be clearing those for fun.
Our playoff hopes are slipping away.

A fair result in the end, though to be fair City had the balance of play. With some festive defending the game was free-scoring and entertaining, but so frustrating and exasperating, probably moreso for us Town fans given our league position and home form.
One of those rare games when the officials enraged both sets of fans in equal measure...

I agree it was a tremendous match and fabulous entertainment with a draw being a fair result. Also agree the ref was poor, but the two linesman were even worse. Both struggled to keep up with the pace of the game.
However, I don't agree with the comments about Malone. His reputation is deserved. Two footed or studs up tackles were outlawed from the game years ago ( though many supporters also don't seem to be aware of this either ) and City can expect to be regularly playing with 10 men if he continues to have at least one mad moment per game. The first yellow card was unjust but the second could have been a straight red. From my position it appeared as if the Didcot player could see the foul coming and so pulled out of the challenge to avoid injury. Of course, this is just my view and I don't expect many City fans to agree.
Baird can also be a liability eg the free kick he gave away for the 4th goal through petulance after being the player who was first fouled. Just stupid and asking for trouble. Of course I expect I am in a minority here as well.
On a positive side, I thought the 30 minutes before half time was the best I've seen City play since the Burton cup-tie ( I didn't go to Farnborough ), and when they went down to 10 men, they still looked the likely winners.
Finally, I agree with Padz that Perps needs to return at left back. And yes, Bartley is not good enough for this level

...am an occasional city watcher being an OUFC season ticket holder so was my 1st game of season today...what a game to pick...missed anouncement of team so can I ask who city's wide players?thought both played well.Generally a great game and thought city moved the ball superbly at time ...offside or not Steele is still a great finisher and I dont know if anyone else noticed it but there was one piece of sublime skill by Jamie Brooks...wasnt sure about sending off ...it was definitely a 2 footed challenge but ball was won....hope you play some more games when United are away so i get to see some more games...

lets get this right now clive if thats your name.liam is a dirty player.well in your mind he is,do u no the meaning of a ball winner, its called a 50-50 tackle.a lot of players have not got the bottlle to go for this sort of challenge,as u said this was outlawed a few years ago.studs up and high no problem.but i think your problem is u cant see a proper tackle like this, that was a fair challenge.the diddy player did not want to know.no bottle its called.so to say liam has his mad moments in a game is a bit unfair i think.he is a 100per cent commited player who gives his all for city and never knows the words defeat.so i say to you stick watching your darts on the telly and and keep watching come dancing on the bbc

Im not going to knock Liam or Bairdy as they are two of the players who actually will get stuck in and mix it up which is something we sometimes lack (the only other players who will go for a slide/physically compete for the ball are Lyonsy and Pondy) this is why they will sometimes get the bookings.
Liam should never have been sent off yesterday, just like the one at Evesham (this is not rose tinted specs in my opinion as i can see his one in the fa cup was a deserved one) and as for Baird giving away the free kick i just think that was never ever a free kick, and im sure even the Didcot fans thought that one was a late christmas present from the 'referee'
As for Didcot's players, Draycott looked very good and took his goals well and the only other player to me who stood out was Ian Sampson, although he isn't really a Didcot player as he's on loan from United, you can see the points in their side why they are strugglin at times, Janesy and Belly were drifting past Heapy like he wasn't there and Phillip John appeared to be very greedy.

It doesn't matter if you win the ball, a two footed or studs up challenge is a straight red card. This is the directive referees have been given.
As several posters on this and the Didcot forum have stated, it was a two footed tackle, so irrespective of winning the ball or the lack of malice, or the poncy opponent losing his bottle, the ref should have issued a straight red, not a second yellow if he were correctly applying the directive.
It is still possible to win 50/50 tackles fairly, which Malone does 99.9% of the time. Unfortunately, both he and Baird are prone to mental lapses, which is possibly why they are at City rather than a couple of levels higher up the pyramid.
Ironically this directive is intend to encourage "flair" players, of which City have more than most teams, so we should be in favour of it.....

Padz, re the free-kick, as I stated on my original posting, Baird was clearly ( well to me anyway ) being fouled by a desperate Draycott. It should have been a free-kick to City. However, the ref and linesman got it wrong again by not awarding the free-kick. I was standing close to the linesman and could see that Baird got up and stamped on Draycott who was still on the ground. It didn't look particularly hard, and Draycott made a real meal of it but the linesman had a clear view so flagged to the ref.
So the needless pertulance resulted in a free-kick incorrectly being given and 3 points being lost. In the 94th minute, when winning 4-3 away in a local derby with 10 men, perhaps Baird should have got up and concentrated on marshalling the defence for the last minute. But perhaps this is why I admire Gunn the most out of City's defenders...
