A few of us are going to make a bit of a day of it - few drinks during the Home match, stay on at the Clubhouse after the game until approx 7ish and then head over to Kiddy to watch the Nomads - even possibly heading back to the Clubhouse after that to celebrate the double win As always, more the merrier!

Obviously disappointing to lose to local rivals, in fairness a poor game with very few chances created by either side, the difference was that Banbury took one of the two chances they created.
we looked sharp in the first half but faded in the second and didn't realise create any chances of note.
Banbury didn't look a fantastic side, slightly better than Evesham/Bashley but not fantastic, Will Green took his goal well and the right back looked their best player, really good going forward

Agree, I still can't help but feel Fordy's tactics weren't quite right though. Im Happy of where we are currently, especially after last season so no overall complaints there. We can field pretty much the same squad at the moment week in and week out which again is what many people, inlcluding myself demanded last year. But having watched 4 of our first 6 games I feel we're too predictable, having made virtually the same substitutions every game thus far. I think having Steele on the bench is a mistake, he had a face like thunder after the game, coming on for around 30mins and then only getting about 2 touches due to very very poor passing in the final 3rd....and with the prospect of a 200mile trip home its quite understandable. I think also Barcelos should have been replaced either at half-time or during the second half as he had a mare, 1st touch was poor at best and always tried to do to much when he did get the ball under control. Another minor observation is that I think we can all agree the Banbury Right back was the best player on the park, but one reason he was good he was given the chance to go forward and gambled. It seems and I can only assume it is down to Fordy our fall-backs never gamble with such runs. even in the first half when we had Banbury penned in. You always had a 4v4 with Barcelos,Stanley,Lyon and Basham going forward, having someone take a gamble and make a run opens the space, not just from fall back- but from midfield and it seems despite the quality we have we just don't do it....everyone sits back in there rigid positions waiting for the inevitable counter attack when we lose the ball. Oh Well bring on Leamy...which ill sadly be missing as im London for the day

A blast from the past!! I am sure that some of the city supporters have noticed my absence (many with great delight) however reading the postings following the Banbury game nothing has change with Fordy's tactics. Different team every game, non attacking defenders and the long ball up field thus not making good use of the forwards. The reason I have stopped watching the City, home and away for 15 years is the lack of ability to select the best side and apply the tactics of Mike Ford. Best of luck for the rest of the season, unfortunately as long as Fordy is there, I will not be!!

Anyone know what the crowd was? Looked around the 350 mark to me...50-70 Banbury possibly?

According to the League website attendance was 418, good turn out. Too bad it was a very poor game for either set of supporters as well as the neutral.
