Tonight's game is OFFwww.trurocityfc.co.uk/NewsItemViewer.aspx?nid=256Surely no ones is going, right? Ridiculous scheduling, for fans and players. Any idea if BBC Oxford will have any coverage? Doubt it as Utd aren't playing. Guess it'll be a case of following the messageboard! Predictions?

Will have to check their messageboard, I'd imagine.
With a 10 hour roundtrip I'm not suprised that you can't make it. Would have to have an afternoon off work, and then wouldn't make it back to the early hours of the morning. It's crazy.
Would it not have been possible to change a Saturday fixture to a Tuesday and schedule this game for the Saturday? I'd just like to know how these things are worked out.
Still not as bad as Newcastle playing Plymouth in the Cup replay this week which is a 800 mile round trip!!!

Its very cold down here in Cornwall and doubt if the game will be on.It looks like I might be the only City fan there if it is played, only live 20 odd miles away.It will be strange watching City play down here

Just seen we've got Clevedon away on 30th March too. Not quite as far, but still a pain on a week night.

I'd just like to know how these things are worked out. I'm sure the League try to be fair in the way they allocate the long-distance trips - but then along come the Cup/Trophy-runs and the weather to upset their plans. Truro have matches on all remaining Saturdays this season, and, with the exception of Supermarine in March, all the sides visiting Truro on a Saturday have further to travel than City - so no real latitude there! Yes, it is a long way, but imagine what it must be like for the Truro fans - they still have Tuesday night trips to Bashley, Brackley, Chippenham, Evesham and Merthyr to do.

I would have gone on the original date and made a weekend of it, and I might go to the midweek one but it will depend a lot when it is played.
I assume none of you also travel around watching a League side (I am only a part-time City fan, really), as this would just be a long trip but not an impossible one. Plymouth v Oxford United would only be slightly shorter and that fixture must have happened a few times in the past. I have done midweek trips to Torquay, Scarborough and Carlisle to name but three. Also as a non-driver, my regular Saturday trips up North to home games are about 16 hours long, though I could knock a couple of hours off if I left a bit later. Having said that, the equivalent of Truro away would still be considered a long away trip in League terms, but it would not be considered odd to take time off work to go to such matches as this is what many of us do (or did in the past in my case).
Just an observation really - I can understand why it is too far for most, especially midweek.

Apparently were geographically 7th closest to Truro!!
Clevedon is a fairly easy trip really, didn't take long last season.
Tiverton was a pain midweek as it bucketed down but lukily got delayed 15 mins and did get played, yeovil away on boxing day was irritating in 96/97?, battered them for 20 mins then it was abandoned, went back on a tues night and got hammered by them

I go to watch West Ham away 6-8 times a season but only if its do-able. I've taken time off work in the past, and also as a non-driver Im with you on the massive away trips (Middlesborough and Sunderland in the last couple of seasons!).
It's alot to ask for non-league supporters, not to mention the players, who all have day jobs too!
