Tuesday we welcome Frome Town to Court Place Farm.
Currently sitting in 8th place, they've had decent results winning at Cambridge and drawing at home to Brackley.
Very tough fixture but should be an entertaining match if we match the tempo we played at on Saturday
Have we ever played Frome before? (chrisb?)

Yep... but only the once back in 1911 in the FA Cup: we lost 1-4 in Somerset in the 4Q. (Frome had had a good run to get that far - they'd beaten Yeovil and Weymouth - but lost at Southport in the next round.)

Excellent performance again last night with Declan Benjamin my MOM, he's really matured as a player during his spell at Banbury, very powerful running with the ball he caused them no end of problems and (rightly) was awarded a penalty when fouled inside the box.
Bash i thought had his best game for us since signing, cooly converted penalty too.
Big difference from last season is that we seem a yard quicker in closing down the opposition and we seem that bit stronger and more eager to win the 50/50 balls and when we do attack the likes of Felipe,Lyonsy,Dec are finding alot more success in running at players, using a settled squad of players has helped us out alot too and we're now naming 5 subs who could all comfortably be starting games for us so good strength in depth
The first half yesterday we buzzed around creating alot of problems for their defence from the first minute when Felipe saw his shot well saved, Michael Lyon put a couple of teasing crosses into the box and our long throw tactic finally gave us a goal via the head of Bloss (who has also been top class this season)
Let's have a bit more praise for the lads after some cracking results, people are all to quick to comment on here after a bad result but less is said when we have a good result

Certainly the best Tuesday night performance ive seen in quite awhile.
I wouldn't say we were excellent, good yes, but not excellent,We ground out a win which is the sign of a good team and made our own luck but I don't think we created enough good chances from open play to claim an excellent performance. Free Kicks and Corners we look exstremily dangerous and unlike previous seasons we have got alot of size and strength there, the pen was inevitable as soon as Declan got any speed up long the edge of the box....he has impressed me alot since coming on board.
But from the scramble or monopoly if you will of a set piece ball bouncing around the box I don't really remember many chances created from Open play, bar maybe Pondy's half chance when he drove the ball a couple of feet wide of the post in the second half. I was rather hoping when everyone was getting tired and Frome really started pushing forward we would create afew more counter attacks but unfortunately this didn't happen.
Thought also we squandered possession at times in dangerous areas and our defense at times look a touch rickety and Mooney played well to keep them out.
Frome Number 11 looked quite tasty, great crosser of the ball!
Id probably agree Declan MOTM... Id also that the stable team and depth of quality on both the pitch and the bench is making a massive difference to this years fortunes.

City certainly played well for the first forty minutes, though poor finishing (and one really good save from Jason Mooney) cost Frome some consolation. Declan really good for us - great work-rate - and Kyle Tooze (who I think Truro paid quite a bit for once) impressive for the visitors.
The second half was below par I thought - little to raise the excitement levels in either box - as we tried to match them long-ball for long-ball. That said, we ground out a win, and second in the table shows what the team is capable of. And while we're giving credit for City's terrific start to the season, we should not forget how well Nomads have played to get to the top of the Hellenic - bouncing back well to beat Slimbridge on Tuesday night.
...now for Didcot.

Indeed, mention to the Nomads as well...
Speaking of which I have an ignorant question.
Nomads play 2 divisions below the 1st team how far can the Nomads come up?...what I mean is i read alot of teams in our league (ESSP) have dropped there reserve teams to save money, but some others dropped them because of Various FA rules which meant there reserve teams could only come up a certain distance ( 2 or 3 divisions below the 1 st team) and since the idea of a reserve team is to be a feeder for the 1st team it was deemed the players in those club reserve teams were simply not good enough for the clubs 1st team.
For obvious reasons in my mind the Nomads are our reserve team at City, so are they under these rules the other teams talk about or could we in theory at least have a situation in the next few seasons where the club may end up with two teams in the same division?
