The latest from Fordy is now on the homepage, and unfortunatly it's not good news..... www.pitchero.com/clubs/oxfordcityfc/?section=clubnews&news_id=92387Andy Baird due to work commitments will be hanging his boots up after the Banbury game. Andy has been an absolute colossus for this football club and I’m sure if Justin makes a better signing than Andy it will be a fantastic one indeed. Andy is the sort of warrior every team needs when you are up against it or it’s a terrible night when some players have their hands up their sleeves and don’t really fancy it he is the one to carry the team through. He will undoubtedly be a big loss but it gives others the opportunity to be a regular in the team. Ballard came in last week and id well and James Clarke looked far more comfortable at centre half alongside Andy Gunn who has played very well recently. It is now their moment to become the player the others have to follow. We wish Andy all the very best in the future. Gutted about sums it up for me, for my money in the top 5 best players in the Southern Premier As supporters i feel we must really show our appreciation for Bairdy before he hangs up his boots

Agree Padz, he's been a fantastic player for City, folk have often said they wished we could clone him - then he could play up front and at the back in the same match! The Banbury fixture would be a great one for him to end on - so hope it goes ahead. Thanks Andy, all the best.

Claire, do you think Hearts could spare anyone of the same calibre (providing they've got anyone as good!) ? Seriously, we will all miss Bairdy. A great player who will be difficult to replace.

Sad to see Bairdy retire, not only a rock for City but a player who was unlucky with injuries when he broke in to the Wycombe team.
All the best Bairdy!!
