City have to visit Redbridge (IL Div1N) in the First Round of the FA Cup. Dagenham & Redbridge have also been drawn at home (to Bath City)...so maybe one will be on the Sunday (again)

i doubt there will be any need to move the fixtures. I've no idea where Redbridge's ground is in relation to Dagenham's, but Redbridge's average league attendance last season was 91. I notice they got 92 for their FA Trophy match last weekend and 442 for yesterday's cuptie against Ebbsfleet. I expect most of these were away fans. I can't see the Police being too concerned but you never know !
I expect the match against Redbridge will be the lowest attendance in the 1st Round. Still the winner will be the lowest ranked team in the 2nd Round ( along with Totton/Bradford PA ), and guaranteed plenty of media coverage then.
I fully expect City to be last surviving team from Oxfordshire in the competition !

How many City fans at WSM yesterday?

There was a full fans coach, plus others on the team coach and then any in cars so a decent number.

Here is some of the highlights from the game yesterday. Your keeper really did keep you in the game. www.itv.com/westcountry-east/fa-cup-action12943/Best of luck against Redbridge and sorry for the 'fans' (who have never been to a game before) acting like idiots and throwing coins and stuff as we are a nice bunch of people.

Certainly all the Weston fans who've been on here have said nice things, so thanks and good luck to you for the rest of the season, too. A great result for City, who won't worry about another away draw in the next round after four away wins on the trot. That said, Redbridge are quite capable of causing another shock after four wins in matches where they have been the underdogs, and they haven't even conceded a goal in any of them. If they can beat Ebbsfleet two leagues above us, they can certainly cause us problems so we'll need to be at our best.

Hello Oxford City fans, how do you feel about today's draw. Probably the same as us I guess in that we both wanted to face bigger clubs (your sheff wed and charlton's are certainly more attractive than we are) but at the same time it will give both clubs belief they can get through to the 2nd Round. We reach this stage for the first time as Redbridge but under our previous guise of Ford United played Preston North End in 97/98 losing 3-0 and then Port Vale in 2003/04 drawing 2-2 then losing 2-1 in Extra time. We beat Ebbsfleet Utd to reach this stage so are buzzing from that and had some good coverage in the Non League paper as the lowest side left in the cup. We even had the FA Cup down at our ground last week. Regarding some comments above the match will certainly take place on the Saturday and Dagenham and Redbridge being at home the same day will have no effect on us. Our average gate this season has been 155 but this does include yesterday's cup match (442) which over 300 of them would of been Ebbsfleet fans. Unfortunately due to us having many other non league clubs and West Ham/Orient/Dagenham and redbridge close to use we don't attract the crowds we would like. Hopefully on the day we get lots of ground hoppers plus some new fans who watched yesterday, how many would you expect to bring. please visit our site to take a look on us and where we are www.redbridgefc.comwe are easy to reach, central line to Barkingside then 5 min walk, nice clubhouse and a fair sized car park.

Thanks Redbridge fan. We don't have large travelling support but I expect quite a few will come for this match, though not as many as Ebbsfleet brought. At least a hundred, though-- maybe more. Two years ago at this stage we went to Burton with about 200 and made more noise than their 2000, but lost 2-3 to a goal in the final minute. Before that, you have to go back to 1999 when we had two draws with Wycombe in the last cup tie not to be decided within two games. We lost the second replay 0-1. Yes, personally I feel pretty much the way you describe. To get this far and then lose in front of a small crowd without playing a League team would be a disappointment, but for one of us there'll be another chance and a great pot of sponsorship money, so I just hope that's us!

Not silly question but...is this going to be all ticket? Would expect not..but looking at Ford Utd/Redbridge's ground...looks erm...pretty low on capacity!

Capacity is listed as 3,000 www.pyramidpassion.co.uk/html/redbridge.htmlSo unless they want to keep us segregated i imagine it'll be pay on the day , unless theres a mass influx of West Ham fans (it's international weekend so no prem/championship matches)

can't deny im nervous about this draw. Our record against sides below us over the last couple of seasons has been atrocious.
It would be gutting to go out to Redbridge having got this far. the fact we have beaten 2 teams higher than us to get here will be clouded by the fact Redbridge will have beaten 4 teams higher than them and would rightly get the plaudits.
Though the International break may work in favor in terms of crowd numbers we can't even claim we're going to get a decent bonus from gate receipts as I wouldn't expect an attendance higher than some of the better attended clubs in our own division.
Fingers crossed therefore we get a comfortable win and a decent draw to equal our best ever FA Cup run.

have seen some interest on west ham forum for this match but even with say 50 hammers plus our regulars and your away crowd plus ground hoppers I would say a crowd of 250-300 max !!! Ticket prices to be confirmed on our website tomorrow....

Hello everyone,
I am ancient so won't bore you with my details. My first game back watching city was against Leamington who looked a very smart outfit and I was impressed with citys display a 2-1 win and my son who asked why we had not been before. Told him 'well they moved to other side of city'. His reply was' No excuse' To my joy he does not want to go to sheffield but he wants to see Bash and Clarkey again and that Barcelos chappy, who he says is better then Tevez at Redbridge, watching this website carefully so I can get details of how to get there and prices thank you everyone for your input. Good luck to everyone I hope its an entertaining game, and city get the right result!
regards old hoop

I'll be on the radio giving my predictions at 8:30-8:45am. Before heading upto the capital for the BIG game!
Will be going on the train aswell 10:30/11 am (3 Of us), then onto the tube. Should be a good following for City and could be a momentous day!

I shall be coming from 200 miles away to Barkingside on Saturday.
I can only watch City occasionally nowadays. Have seen Redditch, Thame and Eastleigh this season.
Managed Burton Albion (away), and look forward to another classic FA cuptie on Saturday. I saw the three ties versus Wycombe, and I saw the Hereford game in late 1940s (?), when a special train was chartered. I think we lost by 4-3 after extra time
Up the City!

I'd go with the same lineup just different formation. Subs- Mclaughlin, Martin,Fleet, M.Clarke,Steele. City to the win 4-1. Basham 2, Barcelos, Steele Attachments:

Your prediction may be right, Padz, though I'm surprised you've left out Marv Martin altogether--is he injured? Your selection looks a bit short of natural left-side players. I never normally make match predictions--all I'd say here is that I don't think there will be more than one goal in it either way. Redbridge will be massively up for this and their cup run so far has been fantastic--Adam Rafis hasn't even let a goal in. A 2-1 win at Cambridge just last Saturday, a week after dumping out Ebbsfleet 2-0, shows they definitely have some quality and they will be better suited to their bumpy, sloping pitch than City will. City raise their game against higher league opposition but have been too casual against teams from lower divisions in recent years. Both teams will battle to the end and a game like this can turn on a refereeing decision, a ricochet or deflection, a defensive slip, or one piece of sudden brilliance. That's why it's exciting--anything can happen, either side could win, and one team that is confident and on form is going out. City are going to have to roll their sleeves up and work very hard--no place in Round 2 is going to come easy. Mike Ford knows that, but do all his players, flushed with the success of hitting the top of the league for the first time?

I've got money on City winning by a certain score but I'm not going to let on what that scoreline is as I don't want to hex it! But I do hope it comes off as it would net me a cool £800! Amazing what odds you get on a 6-5 win for City.

Sorry yes, I meant to put Martin as a sub rather than Mcdonagh, i think Ashton will get the nod over him purely on the fact he's played in the previous rounds.
