Oxford City vets lead the way again to bring home the league & cup double!! Whilst battling their way to victory Shrivenham were turning over Chinnor to hand us the title. Goals from Robert Tutton & super sub Wayne 'fairclough' Holden who rolled back the years to head home the winner! Sid the Cat whose distribution was dreadful all night was the other hero when he pulled off a magnificent penalty save at 1 - 1. The gaffa who was later seen breakdancing in the Six Bells would like to take this opportunity to thank his staff & players for a wonderful season! The only blip was Justin Merritt who walked off in disgust after being hit in the face.. The language used should never be heard on a football pitch again. Signing off now as the room is spinning after six Jaegarbombs & five Kronenburgs!!! Up the Vets.

Wayne Holden, Andy Thomas... City are blessed with having two great centre forwards!! Still sprightly considering a combined age of 91!!

I've now played football for 35 years (since playing for Quarry when 8 years old) and last night witnessed one of the funniest things in that time.
Edge of the box their forward shoots and Justin Merritt gets whacked in the face blocking him from no more than 2 yards away and ref gives a ridiculous penalty against him.
Justin proceeds to use every single swear word imaginable towards the ref and then simple storms off towards our dugout and says,
"Right, that's it, I'M NOT PLAYING ANY MORE!"
The ref was calling him over so as to book him but he ignored him and just walked off the pitch in disgust.
I'm sure that if the ball wasn't on the penalty spot he'd have taken it with him.
It really was the funniest thing I've ever seen on a football pitch and after the match no one said anything to Justin to remind him...NOT!!
It's been a good season and with the news in the changing rooms that Chinnor dropped points made it even more enjoyable evening. It's been good because we've not had it easy and for once the championship was out of our hands and we needed a favour, which we got.
Well done Young Kenny - inspirational.
It's been a pleasure...but suffering for it now after drinking in the 6 Bells afterwards. Great bunch of lads.

Well done Young Kenny. I know it was a hard act to follow, but you got there in the end mate. Double in your first season, and beat Creedy on a dance off in the 6 Bells last night. Mind you he was handicapped, as his Starsky & Hutch cardigan was weighing him down. pressures on me and the 40's now to make it a treble.
By the way has anybody seen our reporter Les Baskerville. The boys were all worried last night for his welfare.
If anybody is passing through Kidlington today, Justin Merritt has asked if you could go and pick up his toys that he left on the pitch last night. He would like to take them to Chinnor with him next season???
Great night in the Bells last night, loads of banter washed down with half a dozen Jaeger Bombs. Well done boys. Great season.
P.S - Did I mention my winning goal!!!!!

Great stuff lads, I cant believe I missed it, well chuffed for everyone though. For some reason Archie was more intent on being driven round the ring road and I was last seen heading for didcot!
I did stop for petrol though and on the way in there was a massive goverment warning poster, It was telling of the dangers of panic buying, all it was was a big photo of andy carroll!
go the 40s see you all soon
