The fixtures are expected to be out on or soon after 2 July, and the early round draws for FA Cup and Trophy about a week later. The big kick-off is on 18 August! As they say, bring it on.

According to the Non League Forum, the fixtures are being made public at 12 noon on Monday. There will be a dedicated area on the Blue Square North webpage, navigable via the Google entry. Workington away, anybody? Harrogate is equally picturesque!

I remember various people saying that about the away trek to Newport IOW some years ago!

I think many of us 'U's fans, who also support City, are hoping that the Conference will not allow home fixtures to clash.
I dont' think I have missed a home match at the Kassam for years and until recently have been to a very large percentage of away games.
But with old age taking a toll these long trips are, so in the main, out. Several go my friends are in the same boat - so heres hoping!
CPF is always a nice place to be imo.

For the first time ever the BSCN has asked clubs to give reasons why they would prefer Fixtures on certain dates, And from what has seen in the press city have submitted united fixtures and asked for when possible to be given home games when united are away. How much will notice will be taken we will have to wait and see as other clubs have also submitted similar requests

Big crowd on first day (18.08), then...home to Chester.
Then away to Gloucester on the Tuesday (21/08) evening.

One of the more attractive opponents to start with, and with United being away that day should hopefully get a decent sized crowd !

Hi- Chester fan here.
How many does your ground hold (both comfortably and at capacity); just thinking about (already) what time I'll need to get up to Headington? I'd anticipate we'll bring c.150-200 Blues who live in the south/ London (such as myself) and then maybe 400-600 from Chester for our opening day at Conference North level. So perhaps 500-800 in total.
Thanks for the responses.

No major nasty away-nights (unless we get good cup runs and replays!). Just 21 Aug: Gloucester City; 02 Oct: Hinckley Utd.; 30 Oct: Bishop Stortford.

CFC Fan - our capacity is 3000, although i don't think we have ever reached it! Would be great to have 600-800 Chester fans there on the 18th, our local league team Oxford Utd are away that day so we should also get a good crowd. Look forward to seeing you!

Only six home fixture clashes with OUFC, including New Years Day and Easter Monday. Otherwise a nod of thanks to the BS fixture planners, I think. We need really good weather for our trip to the Lake District on 9 February- perhaps summer will just have arrived by then!

We need really good weather for our trip to the Lake District on 9 February- perhaps summer will just have arrived by then! Not sure about that. I've been told there are only two seasons up here: Winter and July. And July's not behaving yet! Agreed, it does look like the fixture-folk have taken note of the City/United request on the whole - that's not too many clashes. Though I think the M1 will be busy on Jan 19th with Rotherham heading to the Kassam and Halifax to CPF.

Which team do you think will bring the most fans? I suspect it will be "the Massivefax". I think I will cut across to the M 40 on my way down, and get in early before the turnstiles get too congested!

I'd be quite surprised if it wasn't Chester. Our away following last year was an average of over 530 (we had an average away gate of 1100, average gate in the division as a whole was about 570, but average for the division as a whole is skewed upwards by our 2,797 average home gate), whereas Halifax had an average away attendance of 854, against an average for the division of again about 570, and less disruption to the league average due to Halifax's home gate of only 1419 (so maybe about 280ish away fans for them). Plus, it's the first game of the season, so I'd expect more Chester fans than usual given the start of season enthusiasm. And the drive is shorter from Chester than from Halifax (although only by a bit).
Either way, your Treasurer should be very happy with the number of Blues in attendance!

Git for me personally, as with the Cobblers at Rochdale with overnight stay on the ales in Manchester! Hoping not too many other clashes..i.e. Chester, Halifax and Boston away!

Hi,
Are there any decent pubs near the ground or have the club got a social club - how big is it?
Cheers

Hi, Are there any decent pubs near the ground or have the club got a social club - how big is it? Cheers Regarding pubs, simple answer - no! Marston is a desert - in almost every sense (imo) - though good chippy just down from ground! Social club at ground which serves decent food and Oxford Gold draught ale (as well as usual lagers etc) If you want real ale..loads in centre of Oxford - too many to mention tbh. From High Street, X13 or 13 buses marked J.R. Hospital (via Marston Lane) take you to within a five min walk from ground..about a 10-15min bus ride from city centre.

Three Horseshoes closed down...Red Lion (7-10 min walk) looks ok on the outside, but is pretty dire tbh! Would have thought, as suggested..few beers in the city centre before making your way to the social club at CPF.
