Swansea Town 1968 and 1969 Afraid not...they were in Division Four at that time. And changed their name to Swansea City the following season.

Going for a last gasp... New Brighton Tower FC 1901 walk over. Good to see the questions have got a few folk thinking as we head for this season's Big Match... Yes, Luton were in Division Four in 1967. New Brighton Tower were in the second tier in the season they folded and scratched in the FA Cup...but as we didn't actually play them, it wasn't them I was thinking about. Answer later in the day. And maybe another 'puzzle'?

1905-1906 Burslem Port Vale lost 0-1 still qualifying round though my last go.. Ta Da.... Yes indeed. In those days many Football League sides played in the later Qualifying Rounds, and Burslem Port Vale, who resigned from the Football League at the end of the following season and dropped the "Burslem" from their name in 1911, were in the second tier of the Football League when City played them in 1905. Right, I'll have to think up something else now!

Right then...
Which club won the Football League Cup (as it was (sensibly!) called in those days) forty years after beating City in the FA Cup?

Swansea City? Or Swansea Town as they were back then?

Swansea City? Or Swansea Town as they were back then? Afraid not. Very close...but, Swansea won the League Cup in 2012/13, forty-three years after beating City.

I’d go with Norwich, only as I know they’ve won it and I’m pretty sure we’ve played them in the fa cup

They beat City 3-0 in Norwich after a 1-1 draw at the White House in the 1921-22 season (their second season in Division 3S), and were the second ever winners of the (new) League Cup in 1961-62. Getting hard to think of tricky(ish) questions now...perhaps another one or two before 04/11!

Only one club beat city in the competition and won the fa cup twice. Who did they beat (both clubs) and where were the games played?

Only one club beat city in the competition and won the fa cup twice. Who did they beat (both clubs) and where were the games played? Bury. They beat Southampton (1899/1900) and Derby County (1902/03 (6-0 which I think is the record victory in the Final)): both games at Crystal Palace.

Does anyone know what time the coach/coaches will set off on Saturday? On Saturday the poster at the club shop said 10.00, and Justin said he thought that was when it would be but we'd be sent detailed confirmation later. Any idea what would happen regarding lunch -- and if someone brought a bag for packed lunch etc, would it be allowed in the ground?

Last(?) puzzle..........
The days of 'works' teams are probably long gone, but which three 'works' sides from Oxfordshire have City faced in the FA Cup?

We norrnally allow bags into the ground, subject to a cursory check by a steward. Don't have any bottles or cans in there though.

All those who have booked coach travel should now have received the following email
Dear All,
Just a quick email to confirm details for the coaches on Saturday to Colchester.
I can confirm that the coaches will be departing later than initially billed. The coaches are now scheduled to leave the club at 10:30. The club will be open from 9am with food and drink available to purchase before the departure time. It is stressed that we will not be able to hold the coaches for too long if you are running late.
If you haven’t already purchased tickets, or are picking up tickets, this can be done on the Saturday morning as tickets will be available to purchase prior to departure. A table will be set up in the clubhouse on the morning where this can be done.
It is expected to be busy at the ground on Saturday morning as a number of youth teams will be playing. If you are driving to the ground, and cannot find any parking spaces in the main community arena car park, please drive up right up to the stadium and we will try and get you parked in the stadium car park.
Any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact media@oxcityfc.co.uk
